Fools Gold Clubhouse Vol. 2 (Free Download)

Here's some new free heat, courtesy of A-Trak & Catchdubs' Fools Gold Records.

Fool's Gold Clubhouse is a series of free, monthly compilations featuring brand new music from Fools Gold friends and family, as well as an entire summer of festival stages sharing the same name.

This volume features tracks from Baauer's hotly-anticipated Flosstradamus remix and Starkey's Solar Flare, to big room Electro from Wax Motif and house music from Solidisco. What's also nice is that the compilation also includes tunes plucked from the Fools Gold demo bin, therefore shining the light on up and coming producers.
You can still grab the first volume from the Fools Gold Soundcloud for free.

James Bond - Skyfall (international Trailer)

Following on from the Olympic Games TV Spot, MGM & Columbia Pictures have unveiled the latest trailer for Skyfall.

The film is scheduled for a release on October 22nd.

Potholes Music Presents Cosmic Island

Here's something for all the instrumental fans. I've never really listened to much of Potholes Music discography before, but it seems that put out really solid compilations and EPs, featuring a whole range of talented producers.

This album features a whole variety of Hip Hop-inspired productions from familiar faces on the beatmaking scene such as Durkin, Lakim, Ta-Ku, and newer artists (to me, anyway) such as Suhnraw and EOM.

Definitely a great album to zone out to on those Sunday afternoons. You can stream/download Cosmic Island via the player below, and grab more music from the Potholes Music Bandcamp too.

Big K.R.I.T. Feat. Ludacris - What U Mean (Music Video)

Taken from his new album Live From The Underground, which is out now, and well worth the purchase.

In other news, Big K.R.I.T. is also playing a show at XOYO in London on the 23rd August. Tell a friend to tell a friend!

Let's just hope some of these Coki tunes see the a release sometime soon!

01. Digital Mystikz - Anti War Dub
02. Benga & Coki - Night VIP

06. Coki - On Board
07. Coki - Badness
08. Coki - Macca

James Bond - Skyfall (Olympic Games TV Spot) (Video)

Coinciding with the launch of the London 2012 Olympic Games, MGM & Columbia Pictures have released a new TV spot for the forthcoming James Bond movie, which will be the 23rd in the series.

LOL at 24 seconds onward. Typical Bond moment.

The film is due out 9th November at both normal and IMAX cinemas.

The New Step (Early Dubstep & Grime Documentary) (2003)

One of the posters over at Grime Forum kindly threw this up on Youtube the other day.

Originally aired in 2003 on BBC Radio 1, and featuring interviews from Plastician, Oris Jay and even a then 17 year old Benga, it gives an interesting insight into the birth of 8 bar/early Grime and Dubstep. Highlights also include challenging Benga to make an 8 bar riddim in 10 minutes on Music 2000 for the Sony Playstation.

It's great to look back on the scene in 2003, and to see how it's developed over the past 10 years.

Bloom - Quartz (Gobstopper Records 005)

Mr. Mitch has been going from strength to strength this past year. When he's not busy dropping tunes, cooking up sick remixes for the likes of Slit Jockey Records, you can find him putting out consistently solid releases through his Gobstopper Records imprint.

The label's latest release (which is due due out August 3rd), comes courtesy of Belfast's Bloom, who delivers a heavy bass-driven riddim in the form of Quartz. It's definitely got that Eski-type vibe about it, and whilst it sounds like it could have easily come out around the same era as Macabre Unit's Sense, or DJ Marsta's Gridlock, it still fits in nicely with the current sound of Grime/UK Bass music.

Peep the Soundcloud player below for a preview of the full release, which includes excellent remixes from both Starkey and Slackk.

Two Inch Punch - Digital Love Letters (Music Video)

Taken from the recently released Saturn: The Slow Jams EP, Two Inch Punch once again comes correct with his signature mixture of wonky electronica and trippy R&B vocals.

Dude scores extra points for using Wargames (shouts to Matthew Broderick) as the visuals for what I think is the strongest track off the EP, Digital Love Letters. I really need more music from this guy.

One of my favourite joints off the Habits & Contradictions album.

R&B Covers from Telephoned...

If you're into 00's R&B, and also into Clams Casino instrumentals, then you'll love these R&B covers which have been tastefully done by New York outfit Telephoned.

Taking classics from the likes of Usher, Amerie, 50 Cent, and err....J-Lo, they've given these Pop/Crossover tunes a grimier, spaced out feel. Well worth checking out.

Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Rockie Fresh - Can’t Hide It

The Cool Kids' Mikey Rocks teams up with Rockie Fresh for the 2nd single of his album Lap Of Lux, which is due out August 2nd.

BONUS! Just incase you missed the first single, Now You Do.

The Dark Knight Rises Batman x Stussy T-Shirt Collection

First up, I need to say that The Dark Knight Rises was such an awesome film. Whilst many movie fans (myself included) will always prefer Heath Ledger's Joker to Tom Hardy's Bane (who was still an excellent villain), it has definitely taken the title of Film Of The Year in my eyes.

To commemorate the final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Stussy has designed a trio of t-shirts in conjunction with the release of the film. I'm definitely copping the "Mask" t-shirt when it drops in the UK.

DJ Jazzy Jeff x Skillz - The Jazz Cafe Experience (Video)

DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skillz give an in depth look at their performance at the Jazz Cafe in London. Filmed by Cristopher Schafer.

P.S. Fast forward to 25 seconds: Bruce Wayne, Complexion and both Dixon Bros all make a cameo!

Narduwar Vs. El-P

Nardwuar links up with the Def Jux head honcho for another great interview. Hold tight Killer Mike with a cameo appearance.

2 Chainz Feat. Kanye West - Birthday Song

Here's some new music from man of the moment, 2 Chainz, whose album Based On A T.R.U. Story is due out August 14th.

Rumour has it also that he could be joining the ranks of the G.O.O.D. Music roster.

Island Retreat by Fearon Hay Architects

Whilst Hypebeast can become inundated with posts about clothing brands that I don't really care about, they do have great taste in architecture and interior design.

If you read the blog regularly, you'll know one of my interests outside of music is interior design and houses. Anyhow, this Island retreat by Fearon Hay Architects looks great.

Overlooking Matiatia Bay, the series of structures are designed around an open courtyard in a layered enclosure that is both modern and camp-like in its arrangement, while also sheltering the inhabitants from the high winds that often batter the island.

Each concrete space is associated with each aspect of the family’s living (eating, sleeping, entertaining, etc.), and is connected via retractable glass panels and perforated aluminum screens which complete balanced aesthetic with its rough surrounding elements.

Waka Flocka Flame Vs. TNGHT - Hard In Da Goooo (DJ Cable Refix)

Seeing as the highly-anticipated TNGHT EP dropped yesterday, I thought I'd put together this little Waka Flocka refix for your listening pleasure. Check it out in the Soundcloud player below!

Kreayshawn - Go Hard (La.La.La.)

Nice video. Shame about the track though, although I'm pretty sure this will become a staple banger in most Top 40 spots.

Baauer - Harlem Shake (Cable's "Essex Shuffle" Rework)

...so I decided to give Baauer's recent club anthem an uptempo overhaul. Listen to it below...

Mansory x Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 “Carbonado”

Lamborghini has always has a reputation for building extravagant cars, so it's only right that their collaboration with Mansory follows suit.

Dubbed the “Carbonado,” the super car features custom body paneling of carbon fiber alongside matching detailing on the interior and a 6.5-liter V12 under the hood – capable of 754 horsepower and 553 lb-ft torque.

Having removed the front wings and bonnet in favor of custom designs, the automobile also features a diffuser integrated into the new rear apron and the inclusion of a rear wing while new side sills utilize built-in channels to direct additional cool air to both the rear brakes and drive unit.

God knows how much this thing is going to cost.

Waka Flocka Flame - Rooster In My Rari (TNGHT Remix)

HudMo & Lunice are killing it right now. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

P.S. In a semi-related note, massive shouts to TNGHT for dropping Decibel's tune GAP (forthcoming on Tectonic) in their Diplo & Friends guest mix this past weekend.

Affion Crockett – WTF (Feat. Jay-Z & Lil Wayne)

More comedy impersonations from Affion Crockett, which is taken from forthcoming album, aptly titled Watch The Clone.

Domo Genesis Feat. Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples & Action Bronson – Elimination Chamber

Just arrived back in the UK to a bunch of promo mailouts; this being one of them.

Produced by The Alchemist. Well worth checking out.

DCult - The MIG x FKOF EP

Running a digital label can be a lot of hard work, especially when you know it's a rarity that you'll see money off the first couple of releases. However one thing that I'm proud of with the Triangulum label is putting out music from artists who are on the rise, and who I firmly believe will blow up in the near future.

DCult is one of those artists.

Recently he's been working closely with Demon's M.UD. imprint, putting out a solid series of releases. Most recently, his Deadly Hands of Shang Chi EP dropped, which is nothing short of amazing.

Not content with churning out quality music for Demon, he's recently dropped a free EP for Bass Music blogs Fat Kid On Fire and Make It Good, consisting of three previously-unreleased tracks.

If you like your Dubstep dark, sparse, and weighty, then look no further. Massive shouts to M.U.D. for pushing the scene forward at a time where everyone is either making the noisiest stuff possible, or making tunes so minimal that they're sending the ravers to sleep.

You can listen to the tunes in the player above, and also download them for free.

Royal Air Force x Casio G-Shock GW-A1000RAF-1AJR

My obsession with watches continues to grow....This new collaboration between the Royal Air Force and Casio looks awesome.

"Working together to build a watch with the necessary functions that will appeal to aviators around the globe, this timepiece is highlighted by its signature “Triple G Resist” construction – a new composition meant to withstand even more shock, vibration and centrifugal gravity than your average G-Shock."

Additional features include an analogue movement where each of the three hands are controlled by individual motors dubbed “Smart Access;” a temperature indicator; one-touch Zulu time display which ensures that all pilots, regardless of location, are using the same 24-hour clock; atomic timekeeping; a solar-powered battery; and carbon fiber details.

The GW-A1000RAF-1AJR will be available at select stockists this month.

The Dark Knight Rises - 13 Minute TV Special

Movie of the year. I'm just saying....

Classic Tracks: Zoom & DBX "Coming Again" (2000)

Okay, so it's been over two years since I last did a Classic Tracks post. I'm really slacking....

Anyhow, after discovering this in my iTunes collection earlier today, I had to resurrect this feature.

I actually remember owning a copy of this on vinyl back in like, 2001 or so. Unfortunately I parted ways with my UK Garage collection (a move that deeply regret) a few years later, but I was lucky enough to acquire a decent copy on MP3.

A little bit about Zoom & DBX - they were Paul Landon and Neil Rumney; the latter had a string of successful releases in the early 90's under the names NRG and Trotters Independent Traders (no Del Boy). Whilst the UKG scene had started to become increasingly cheesy (and subsequently fade away shortly after) around the time of this tune's release, this remains a classic. I've always been a fan of the M1 organ sound.

I'm slowly starting to rebuild my UKG collection on vinyl again, so will definitely be hunting down a copy of this.

P.S. I will try my best to make this a regular feature from now on.
