Potholes Music Presents Cosmic Island

Here's something for all the instrumental fans. I've never really listened to much of Potholes Music discography before, but it seems that put out really solid compilations and EPs, featuring a whole range of talented producers.

This album features a whole variety of Hip Hop-inspired productions from familiar faces on the beatmaking scene such as Durkin, Lakim, Ta-Ku, and newer artists (to me, anyway) such as Suhnraw and EOM.

Definitely a great album to zone out to on those Sunday afternoons. You can stream/download Cosmic Island via the player below, and grab more music from the Potholes Music Bandcamp too.

SRC - The Tangerine EP (Triangulum 004)

Once again, apologies for the lack of posts on here recently. I've currently been running around Europe DJ-ing for this cat called Willy Moon. He makes some pretty good music.

Anyhow, I wanted to bring to your attention the latest release on Triangulum, which will be dropping next week!

Consisting of 4 dancefloor-orientated instrumentals, The Tangerine EP comes courtesy of Birmingham's SRC, who has made a name for himself within the Grime scene with his quirky and melodic, video game-inspired productions.

Having already released music on labels such as Butterz, No Hats No Hoods, and the legendary Numbers imprint, it's safe to say he's certified.

Peep the snippets below for a taster, and make sure you follow SRC on Twitter

The EP will be available from the usual spots (Juno, Beatport, Boomkat, iTunes etc) on Friday 29th June. thanks to everyone who has supported the label so far. More music to come soon!

Bonus! Big Narstie has also vocalled one of the tunes. Download it below!

Clams Casino - Instrumental Mixtape 2

Only just got around to downloading this - 14 mastered instrumentals produced by Clams Casino, who as you know has worked with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Lil' B, XV, Mac Miller and others on. I have to agree with Khal, this is worth the download for the mastered instrumental of "Bass" alone.

Statik Selektah "Never Gonna" (Instrumental)

Brand new heat from Statik Selektah, who has quickly established himself as one of the top beatsmiths in the game. His new album, "100 Proof (The Hangover)" is out now; well worth copping.

In his words:

"this is the first joint ive ever put out without an MC on it. i made this on a flight between denmark and beirut about an hour ago. very Donuts Era Dilla-inspired. i love how in his later days he made the sample talk to the listener. the beat doesnt stay the same for more than 2 bars. this particular joint u can relate to a hiphop, a friend or a relationship. i might even do an instrumental album. enjoy.
