Happy New Year!

Thanks to everyone for their support in 2012.

It's been an awesome year. I got to play in 9 countries, work with some great artists, appear on Jools Holland's show, play at a load of dope festivals, release a couple of tunes, put out a couple of records on Triangulum, and met some great people. I could go on, but I don't want to bore you too much.

I can't wait for 2013, I'm sure it'll be a big year.

Thanks again, and watch this space for more music and mixes. Big up.

DJ Cable - 2012 AD (Mixtape)

It's that time of year where I dig through my digital crates, and finish off the year with my annual Hip Hop round up.

It's been an interesting and exciting year for Hip Hop. Whilst there have been the usual club smashes from MMG, YMCMB, French Montana, G.O.O.D. Music, etc, there have been a load of dope artists coming through, such as Joey Bada$$, Angel Haze, Danny Brown.

I've tried to keep a good balance of mainstream/credible/underground material, plus a couple of dope album cuts to keep everyone happy, with music from Nas, Sean Price, Rick Ross, Big Sean, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, Angel Haze, Tyga, Slaughterhouse, N.O.R.E., Game, Kanye West, TNGHT, 2 Chainz and more.

Honourable mentions go to JJ Doom, Action Bronson, Spaceghostpurrp/Raider Klan, Roc Marciano, Oddisee, El-P, Homeboy Sandman, Ab-Soul, Piff Gang, ItsNate, and Big K.R.I.T., who have all put out some great music this year. It's a shame I couldn't squeeze everyone into 70 minutes' worth of audio!

As a bonus, I'll also be pressing up 300 of these on CD. If you'd like one, just give me a shout and I'll send them out free of charge, provided the world doesn't end this Friday, of course!

Thanks for all the support this year, I hope you enjoy the mix! Big up.

DJ Cable x The Candy Store - 8th Dec 2012

Easy people, just to let you know that I'll be spinning at The Candy Store on Berwick Street in London this coming Saturday.

Whilst I'm DJ-ing, there will also be 25% off everything in store. Make sure you get down there from 2pm-5pm.

Wednesday 28 November 2012

Willy Moon Feat. Wiley - Yeah Yeah (DJ Cable Remix)

I'm pleased to announce my first remix for a major label!

I made this whilst on tour in France the other week, after realising I had the stems to the original tune on my hard drive. Seeing as I had little to no internet connection, I decided to keep myself occupied in between shows by making a remix.

The powers that be liked the rough version, and after some support and radio play from my good friends Mistajam and CJ Beatz, I then got an email asking to include Wiley's verse on the remix. I complied, and the rest is history!

Big up the team at Island Records, hopefully there will be more remix opportunities in the future.

New Music - I'ma G

New dark/minimal Trap music from me. Hope you like it!

Thursday 22 November 2012

FADED @ Rhythm Factory Tonight!

Easy people, just to let you know I'll be spinning here tonight!

For those who are yet to attend FADED, it's one of the best East London raves you could possibly go to; no attitude, good vibes, and consistently good lineups playing the right tunes.

I'll be doing my thing from 12am-1am. If you're in the area, come and party with us.

Tuesday 30 October 2012

...so I was on Jools Holland's show with Willy Moon

Apologies for the lack of posts again; the past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic with DJ-ing, preparing for the Jack White tour, and of course, performing on Jools Holland's show last week.

I didn't get the chance to hang around afterwards and meet Jools, Madness, or any of the other bands due to the fact I had to jet back to Essex for a DJ booking, but I certainly had a lot of fun and was an amazing experience overall.

With Willy's track "Yeah Yeah" now being used by Apple for their new iPod commercial, expect to see a lot of of him across the course of next year.

P.S. I think I need to wear a suit on stage as well.

Tempa T - Say It Right Now (Decibel Remix)

Ahead of playing Fabric's 13th Birthday bash next week, my dude Decibel has decided to give away his unofficial remix of Tempz' latest anthem, Say It Right Now, turning this Grime banger into a Trapped-out, bass heavy monster.

Cop it now!

DJ Cable - New Trap Order (Free Download)

Being the kind person that I am, I've decided to let this off for free download. It's been a staple tune in my sets recently, and has been proven to smash dancefloors (and festival stages) to pieces.

Hell, even Mistajam told me this set Fabric alight when he dropped it.

Big up Wesley Snipes, the trillest vampire of all time, yo.

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Manni Dee & Deft - Stamina Punch EP

Latest release from Seclusiasis..... Definitely one for the Juke/Footwork fans.

Drop It Low is my shit!

Monday 1 October 2012

Shystie - Step Off (Music Video)

Shystie comes through with an uptempo number that's built for the clubs. Add to this her recent collaboration with Azealia Banks, it sounds like we'll be hearing a lot more from her across the course of the next year.

Shot and edited by local homies Deadcloud (yes, they're from Colchester too!), who are also going from strength to strength. They've also just revamped the clothing section on their website, where you can purchase a whole range of items, including the brand new Deadcloud snapbacks.

Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?! Marvel vs. Capcom!

I might have to cop the new Marvel Vs. Capcom you know!

Caspa - Check Yourself!

Free music courtesy of the Dub Police head honcho. Whilst the 2nd drop is a bit too noisy for me, I'm definitely digging that wonky saw wave in the first section. This will definitely bang on a loud system.

Mishka Presents - Keep Watch Vol. XXXIV: Starkey

Mishka keeps their Keep Watch series moving by enlisting the help of one of my favourite producers of the moment, Starkey. Having put out releases on respected labels such as Planet Mu, Ninja Tune, as well as his own imprints (Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey), he's also been pivotal in pushing the sounds of Grime music in the US, collaborating with the likes of Trim and P Money, to name a few.

His mix is nothing short of awesome, packed with new and forthcoming material that is guaranteed to wake you up, especially if you're listening to this on your morning commute to work.

I also gotta give Starkey a massive shout out for dropping my Harlem Shake edit in the mix. You can now grab that for free download via my Soundcloud :)

Nike SB Challenge Court

I haven't been on here in over a week, apologies....Time flies when you're busy. I'll post those DJ Nappy mixes shortly!

In the meantime, here's a picture of the new Nike SB Challenge Court, which is now available from Flatspot.

Whilst Nike SBs have been somewhat inconsistent over the past couple of years, it seems like their latest designs/colour schemes are improving.

Munchi x Trap-A-Holics x DJ Nappy - Trap Bubbling

Forgive me for posting this one slightly late....

If you're up on your Bass Music, you'll fully be aware of the rise of the electronic side of Trap Music over the past 12 months. Trap-A-Holics has been pushing all things Trap-orientated for a minute now, and his latest project with Munchi, mixed by my boy DJ Nappy has now found it's way onto my iPod for regular listening and screwfacing.

Nappy's been on a roll recently, as you'll see with the other two mixtapes I'll be posting over the next day or so.

XO Man - Quag (Music Video)

London's tallest rapper XO Man drops the visuals to his recent club hit. Trust me, this has been blowing up over the past few months!

Taken from his Unrap The Club EP, which you can now purchase from iTunes.

DJ Complexion - Thank You (Mixtape)

Following on from the Dixon Brothers' awesome mixtape, here's another one from League member Complexion, who's put this together in celebration of his Birthday this weekend.

Spanning a whole range of genres, this is highly recommended. Happy birthday homie!

"For my birthday I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has supported my DJ career and especially my mix-tapes. Without you I don't know where I'd be or what I'd be doing.

This is a very personal mix that includes some of my favorite songs. It's a collection of tunes that have a special place in my heart, and I'd like to share them with you.

For me, listening to music is a healing process, and the majority of these songs have helped me deal with issues in my life.

Whether it's losing a loved one, feeling disappointed, or being let down, music has always been there for me. It's comforted me, reassured me, uplifted me, given me clarity and reinvigorated me. I hope it can do the same for you.

So please, sit back, press play and enjoy.

And once again, thank you!"

Dixon Brothers Present: Sunday Vol. 2

Here's something fresh from my League of Extraordinary Gentlemen brethren, the Dixon Brothers.

Perfect for those chilled Sunday afternoon vibes, as the mixtape's title suggests... Get up on this.

Keep up to date with them on Twitter, and be sure to check out their weekly show on Kiss FM, every Thursday night from 1am - 2am, GMT.

STR.CRD X 2BOP @ Bread & Butter 2012

STR.CRD X 2BOP @ BREAD & BUTTER 2012 from STR.CRD on Vimeo.

My South African homies 2 Bop recently ventured over to Berlin for the annual Bread & Butter Expo, where they showcased both their current and forthcoming collections.

Despite it being their first year at the show, their brand was well-received, and in turn helped people open their eyes to South African culture and fashion.

Big up Brad, Hardy and Anthony each and every time.

18 Years of Rinse | 1994 : Geeneus

As Rinse FM gets closer to its 18th Birthday, they've decided to produce a series of interviews with some of the station's DJs (past and present), about their experiences and what the station means to them.

Kicking thing things off is station/label head Geeneus.

Dillon Francis - Masta Blasta (The Rebirth) (Music Video)

Dillon Francis' Moombahton anthem recently got a Trap rework. Here are the somewhat bizarre visuals for it.

Tony Hawk, Riley Hawk & the FLIP Team Skate Tony's Backyard Park

One of the things I wish I had the time (and patience) for as a kid was to learn how to skate. However, I was a don at playing the Tony Hawk videogames back in the days of the Playstation 1.

Anyhow, check out this dope video of Tony Hawk, along with his son, and a few others carving it up in his pool in California.

Saturday 8 September 2012

Kanye West Feat. Jay-Z & Big Sean

Here's the latest single to be taken from the Cruel Summer album, which is produced by Hit-Boy. However, I'm adamant that they should have put Pusha T on there instead of Big Sean.

On a side note, we might have to make this the official anthem for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

G FrSH - Harlem Shake Freestyle (Video)

Disturbing London's G FrSH comes through with a sick freestyle over Baauer's summer anthem.

I was wondering how long it'd take before this got vocalled by someone within the Grime/UK Rap scene.

Tuesday 4 September 2012

D-Styles - Serato Performance Video

D-Styles is undoubtably one of the best scratchers in the world, so it was only right that he teamed up with Serato for this musical routine. cutting up a sax sample over one of his own beats.

If you like this style of scratch music, then I highly suggest you check out his seminal debut album from 2002, Phantazmagorea, which is full of trippy/experimental soundscapes, whilst maintaining that element of musicality.

Azealia Banks - 1991 (Music Video)

Love the visuals on this. Big up Machinedrum on production also!

Nike Air Max 1 2012 Holiday Collection

I need the blue/orange Air Max 1's in my life.

++++N€W TRVP ØRD€R++++

Here's something new for you. Seeing as the latest wave of Trap tunes are taking influence from EDM, I decided to put this little DJ tool together for my sets. Anyone who's seen the first Blade movie will recognise the New Order sample.

Hope you dig it.

Mario - Post It Life (Video)

Just stumbled upon this great little piece, where Super Mario comes to life through the use of over 7,000 post it notes in this stop motion video, which also features a quick cameo from arcade legend Pac Man.

Filmed and edited by The FinalCut King

BONUS! Check out the behind the scenes footage here.

Datsik's Firepower Tour

Check this for a sneak preview of Datsik's Vortex Booth, which he'll be taking on tour over the next few months. With all the crazy production that's going into EDM shows these days, we're bound to see some next level stage shows.

More info on the booth itself here.

Spotted over at RockTheDub.

People Just Do Nothing: Noisey Freestyle (Video)

Apologies for the lack of posts over the weekend. I only just recently got back from DJ-ing in Corfu. It was hot, and I still didn't get a suntan, but I digress...

Anyhow, peep this hilarious freestyle with the geniuses behind BBC Three's People Just Do Nothing, which is a mockumentary about a fictional UK Garage-loving pirate radio station in London.

You can peep their equally funny interview with Noisey HERE.

Big up Sniper & Beats.

"Battery Dun!"

AAPE by A Bathing Ape x Pepsi 2012 “MOONFACE CAMO” Cans

This Hong Kong-only release will hit Circle K convenience stores on August 13 in the military camo, while select locations will carry the blue colorway beginning September 13.

Odds on they will be overly expensive!

Style Of Eye feat Gina Turner - Ray Dee Oh

House Music heads will enjoy the latest release (particularly the AM mix) from Fools Gold Recs, which consists of three new dancefloor orientated tracks from Style Of Eye, featuring the chopped up vocals of Gina Turner (no relation to Tina).

For me, the standout tune on the EP is Norway, featuring Bessem, which is a great slice of chillout/end of the night vibes. Perfect to stick on your iPod whilst you're out and about in the sun too.

You can now purchase the release from Beatport.

Faded @ Rhythm Factory Tonight!
