Phil Collins vs Tempa T - Easy Lover Hype (JuxtaPoser's "Not Another Next Hype Blend" Edit)

You would have to have been living under a rock to have missed out on Tempa T's 2009 anthem "Next Hype"; the biggest Grime track of last year you will no doubt have heard Tempz' bars over more or less every dubstep beat imaginable. A special mention must of course go to DJ Cable himself for creating one of my personal favourite blends, Mr Muscle's Hype, right up there with Plastician's mashup of Next Hype and Re Up.

Anyway, I realised the other day that I couldn't really remember the last time I went to a rave without hearing Next Hype at some point and as great as it sounds over a disgusting dubstep beat, it could sound even better over some 1980s rock guitars, courtesy of Phil Collins. Enjoy!

Daft Punk vs Kanye West - Kanye Interrupts One More Time (JuxtaPoser Party Bomb)

So, I'm assuming that everyone who has access to a computer has seen Kanye's VMA outburst by now, and probably the internet meme phenomenon that it spawned. In fact, if you look a couple of posts back down this blog you'll see a flyer and poster design for POW! featuring this world famous image. Interestingly enough, Mr West himself has seen that poster, having been texted a photo of it by Mr Hudson on thursday night. Small world.

Anyway, back in the immediate aftermath of the VMA incident I made a cheeky little bootleg mashup of Kanye's interruption speech primarily for my set up in Birmingham on the Mainstage @ Student Block Party last month. It went off then and its been well received by most dancefloors since. This is one of a number of exclusive edits that I've thrown together for my sets that I wasn't planning on sharing online but I dropped it last night at POW! and Cable insisted I put it up on here.

This Friday: POW! @ Mustard Lounge

Tomorrow night sees the return of Norwich's favourite eclectic event.

Dubbed as simply "house party in a club", expect filthy tunes, wobbly bass, cheap booze, and a load of inebriated club-goers throwing some shapes on the dance floor.

I'll be there doing my thing along with regular blog contributor Juxtaposer, plus there will be DJ sets from Guise, Dash, Fazhands and more...If you're in the area, come down!

Bloc Party vs The Killers - Banquet For Mr Brightside (JuxtaPoser Mashup)

I just finished knocking together a quick video for a new mashup I've produced, sampling Bloc Party's "Banquet" and The Killers classic, "Mr Brightside". The idea was to create something for a mainstream/indie student dancefloor and I think the result's alright. Check out the video on youtube:

Help make JuxtaPoser the next Dirty Smart DJ!

I put a post up on here about Dirty Smart a few months back at its launch and have been following the label since. They've got some of the freshest designs out there and its definitely the coolest brand in clubland right now.

I'm already a Dirty Smart agent (you want a discount on orders there? "djjuxtaposer" voucher code - ;-) you're welcome) but now I want to push it further and win their competition to become their next official DJ, alongside Bodyrox, Josh Roberts, Funkagenda, Hoxton Whores and Bass Weazal to name a few.

All you have to do to help me out right now is join my group on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=92635353077&ref=nf

Also, if you could possibly invite a load of your friends too, that'd be even better.

Please help me out guys and girls, I'll love you long time!

JuxtaPoser "Stereo Smoothie: Volume 1" (Mixtape)

"A freshly prepared cocktail of musical flavours. A handpicked selection of the freshest sounds, chopped up and blended with some sun-ripened classics to produce an energetic, creative and original sonic sensation. Best served loud."

Okay, so I've finally got round to sorting out a plan I've had for a while now; regular promo mixes recorded for your listening pleasure. My main goal with these mixes is to mash sh*t up as much as possible and hopefully create something a little different from a standard promo mix, the emphasis being very much on presenting music in an original way - if you just wanted to hear the original song, you'd just go listen to that, right?

I've tried to be pretty broad with Volume 1, so hopefully there'll be bits in there that will appeal to everyone and maybe by listening to it, you'll get turned onto some new music.

I'm working on setting it up as a podcast so watch this space for updates. In the mean time though, here's Volume 1, enjoy!
