DJ Cable - A Tribe Called Quest Video Mix

DJ Cable - A Tribe Called Quest Video Mix from DJ Cable on Vimeo.

Following on from Essential Warm Up Vol. 3, I've decided to further explore the realm of video DJ-ing. This time around, I've put together a video tribute to one of the greatest rap groups of all time - A Tribe Called Quest, containing their entire video discography, plus a couple of interviews thrown in to break things up a little bit.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did putting it together. If you visit the Vimeo page you can also download the mix to stick on your mobile device/laptop/tablet/etc.

BONUS! The Notorious B.I.G. "Party And Bullshit" (DJ Cable Remix)

I made this a while back, and decided to upload it to pay tribute the other week for March 9th. If you like it, you can purchase the clean, dirty and instrumental versions all for £1 from my Bandcamp page.

That's a pretty good deal if you ask me!

The League Presents: Essential Warm Up Vol. 3 (Mixed By DJ Cable)

It's been a while since I dropped Volume Two, but here's the latest instalment of the Essential Warm Up series.

Keeping with the Hip Hop/R&B theme, I decided to put together a seleciton of mid-to-late 90's and 00's tracks to make your working lives easier from 10-11pm. Those five hour sets can be a killer, sometimes...

As usual, the mix has minimal tags, so it's club-friendly. We'll be moving into other genres soon, with other League members contributing to the series.

Whether you want something to help kickstart your night, or simply listen to whilst you're getting ready to go out, we've got you covered! I hope you enjoy the mix.

BONUS! Here's the video version for you to watch (and download).

Slighty different tracklist. Same great taste

The League Presents: Essential Warm Up Vol. 2 (Mixed By DJ Cable)

We're back with the second installment of the Essential Warm Up series! Massive thanks to everyone who downloaded the first volume; I'm hearing that a lot of DJs found it beneficial, which is great to hear.

Keeping with the same musical format, I've crafted the finest selection of 2000's Hip Hop and R&B to make your working lives that little bit easier for that 11pm-12am warm up slot.

As usual, the mix has minimal tags, so it's club-friendly. We'll be moving into other genres soon, with other League members contributing to the series.

Whether you want something to help kickstart your night, or simply listen to whilst you're getting ready to go out, we've got you covered!

The League Presents: Essential Warm Up Vol. 1 (Mixed by DJ Cable)

Here's a new mixtape series that I've started with my crew, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which should make DJs lives' a lot easier!

DJ-ing can be a tough job sometimes, especially when you're doing those marathon 4 hour sets, which is why we at The League have launched this dope series of warm up mixes so you can relax for the first hour of your club night!

All mixes have minimal tags, and are guaranteed to get your party started correctly... Subsequent volumes will move into other genres, so all you Open Format DJs will benefit from this. To kick things off, I've gone in with a selection of early 2000's Hip Hop & R&B.

Whether you want something to help kickstart your night, or simply listen to whilst you're getting ready to go out, we've got you covered!

DJ Cable - Juicy J Video Mix

DJ Cable - Juicy J Video Mix from DJ Cable on Vimeo.

After a very long hiatus, I'm back with another Video Mixtape.

It's taken a while to source decent content, and to get fully acquainted with MixEmergency, but I'm now in a position to put out regular video mixes for you guys.

This time around, I've gone in with 75 minutes' worth of Juicy J tunes for your eyes/ears. Some hood videos, some of his classic joints, plus some bizarre stuff including that hilarious Nardwuar interview.

I'm still experimenting with file formats and bit rates, as I want to be able to provide quality downloads, however if anyone would like a copy of this on DVD for free, please hit me up on the following address:

iwantadjcablecd [at] gmail [dot] com

Also, I'd like to apologise for the lack of posts recently. I've been locked away making tunes and playing out relentlessly for the past couple of months, and am only just now in a position to be able to be more pro-active with blogging and putting out free music/mixes for you guys.

Stick with me, as there will be some dope content coming soon over the next few months. Big up!

This time, Rusko gets the visual treatment.

DJ 33 1/3 "Tribute to Guru" (Video Mix)

Just stumbled upon this dope video mix from DJ 33 1/3, who pays tribute to Guru. In his words:

I did this a couple of weeks ago and was just going to sit on it…but It’s now been a full month since Guru passed and I still have a hard time believing he’s not here. I am a big fan of Guru/ Gangstarr, so this is how I paid my respects. The mix is just under 50 minutes long, enjoy.

Thunderclaps Video Mini Mix...

Bit late posting this, but nevermind.

To help promote their "Bootstrap Vol. 1" EP, which consists of Grime reworks of club bangers from the likes of Terror Squad, Clipse, Dr. Dre & Mobb Deep, The Thunderclaps have put together this sick little video mini mix containing the riddims, throwing some acapellas over the top. You can download the audio version here

Limited Edition white vinyl is available from outlets such as Chemical Records and UK Record Shop, whilst you can cop the digital release from Juno Download.
