DJ Cable - A Tribe Called Quest Video Mix

DJ Cable - A Tribe Called Quest Video Mix from DJ Cable on Vimeo.

Following on from Essential Warm Up Vol. 3, I've decided to further explore the realm of video DJ-ing. This time around, I've put together a video tribute to one of the greatest rap groups of all time - A Tribe Called Quest, containing their entire video discography, plus a couple of interviews thrown in to break things up a little bit.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did putting it together. If you visit the Vimeo page you can also download the mix to stick on your mobile device/laptop/tablet/etc.

BONUS! The Notorious B.I.G. "Party And Bullshit" (DJ Cable Remix)

I made this a while back, and decided to upload it to pay tribute the other week for March 9th. If you like it, you can purchase the clean, dirty and instrumental versions all for £1 from my Bandcamp page.

That's a pretty good deal if you ask me!

DJ Cable - Notorious B.I.G. Mix (Weekly Mix #35)

For those who have followed the blog since the start, you may be aware that throughout 2008, I did the "Weekly Mix" series, where, as you've already sussed out, I provided the Internets with a short mix each and every week.

Seeing as its the 15th anniversary of Biggie's passing, I thought I'd repost this for your listening pleasure. This one was done in week #35 of 2008, and is made up of some of my favourite B.I.G. tracks, containing a couple of rare tracks.

And before you rant/complain/heckle/leave a shitty comment, no I didn't forget yesterday...My blogging game's been hella slack this week. Allow it.

Anyhow, it's a shame Biggie's no longer here. Truly one of the greatest of all time. This early freestyle is more than enough proof...

Taken from my 2008 Weekly Mixes (collect them all!), it features some of my favourite Biggie cuts, throwing together some classics, some rare heat, and a blend from yours truly...

For those who didn't check out the mix (shame on you!), I basically updated Biggie's classic joint by putting it over Ja Rule's "Clap Back", and added a few cuts here and there....
