DJ Premier's Michael Jackson Tribute Mix
It's mad to think that it's already a year since MJ's death. Granted, he was a proper weird character, and obviously had some issues, but his music (as well as his influence on the music scene) was legendary.
To pay tribute, I thought I'd post up Primo's mix from last year. Packed full of classic material, this has to be one the best tribute mixes out there. R.I.P. MJ.

Hip Hop Confessions W/ Skillz (Part 6)
Skillz presents: Hip-Hop Confessions ep. 6 from Visually Inklined on Vimeo.
This is the first time I've stumbled across this dope little series, in which everyone's favourite ghostwriter chops it up with various MCs, DJs and producers.
In this episode, Skillz talks to Peanut Butter Wolf and Q-Tip about Biz Markie, J Dilla, the Beastie Boys and more...
Oh, and speaking of ghostwriting, some of you may be aware that I'm now "Ghost Mixing" for other DJs. If you're in need of a hot mixtape/demo, or something dope to help promote your club night, give me a shout here.
In the words of Skillz, "...for the right price/I can make your shit tighter".

El-P "Meanstreak"
Here are a couple of beats from El-P's forthcoming "Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3", which drops August 3rd on Gold Dust Records.
"Meanstreak" is a dark, three-part instrumental suite, whilst "Whores (The Movie)" sounds as seedy as the title suggests...Worth checking out if you like your experimental/instrumental Hip Hop.

I need an iPhone 4...
Obviously that's not my handset...It's Stephen Fry's.
Rather than go on about how I need one of these, you can read his well-detailed review here instead. The fact that the handsets are available SIM-free is great. Now I need to justify spending £599 on a 32GB model just so I can floss....I think I can live with that.
Speaking of flossing, check out Just Blaze's video below. *dead* at all those other handsets...

Free Music From Skream
In the follow up to his highly anticipated sophmore album, "Ouside The Box", Skream has decided to give away a nice little zip file of free music for all you Dubstep fans and DJs.
We're treated with selection of recent tunes such as "Pitfall" and "minimooool", a remix of Dead Weather's "Cut Like A Buffalo", and also a nice 2-step bootleg of the classic Robin S tune, "Show Me Love" (loving the pitched-down vocals - very haunting). If you're new to Dubstep, and like this, you should check out Skream's show with Benga on Rinse FM, each and every Wednesday from 9pm-11pm GMT.

Speaking of Rinse FM, congratulations to Geeneus and everyone involved at the station for finally obtaining an FM license. This is a great look for underground UK music.

Nike Athletic West Air Maxim & Air Max 1
Nike releases a set of fresh Air Maxims and Air Max 1's as part of it's Athletic West collection. Both shoes feature a navy outer and upper, with a contrasting red swoosh, whilst the Air Max 1's feature a beige sole and beige laces.
These are definitely on the "summer sneaker shopping list" (check out my alliteration skills).

Benga "Baltimore Clap" (Music Video)
Very trippy! One of the highlights off Benga's "Phaze One" EP, "Baltimore Clap" has been tearing up Dubstep raves across the country...
If you're yet to check out the EP, I highly recommend it. Most of the tunes on a double-step flex, mainly driven by 808 claps and rapid basslines... Definitely something refreshing and different...
Oh, it's all about this tune too:

DJ Semtex x Dizzee Rascal - Interview from 2003 (Video)
The big homie DJ Semtex recently posted this up on his blog. It's an interview from his "Piece Keepers" DVD with Dizzee Rascal, which was released back in 2003.
Watching back, it's interesting to see how Dizzee has progressed over the past 7 to 8 years...It's crazy to think that it didn't seem that long ago when "Boy In Da Corner" was actually released... Time flies, eh?!

Dizzee Rascal & James Corden "Shout For England" (Video)
Dunno about the whole "Come and have a go..." line, but it's pretty catchy. However when it comes to football songs, nothing will ever top "3 Lions".
Anyhow, all proceeds go to charity, so be sure to cop it.
P.S. They should have let John Barnes spit a mean 16....Just saying...

Then tomorrow, as part of winning the Dogs on Acid x Urban Art Forms competition, I'll be in Austria at the Urban Art Forms Festival in Austria, playing in the D&B tent. Be sure to check out the festival's site for the full lineup. It's sick.

Plastician "Sound That Speaks Volumes 2010"
The one and only Plastician is back with his annual mix (now under a new name), packed full of new and unreleased Dubstep pressure, as well as few Street FIghter sound effects for good measure!
Here's what he has to say:
I decided to rename the mix series as well, a lot of people stumble across the May Mix as its found its way around the internet over the years, and I'm often asked "where is this month's mix" or "where is the october 2008 mix". To avoid confusion and hopefully to help stamp the fact that this is an annual occurence, I've decided to name the mix "Sound That Speaks Volumes" this year is the 2010 edition obviously!!
And, to mark the occasion of the 5th anniversary, I will be pressing copies of the mix for the first time onto CD. As a thank you to everyone who has enjoyed the May mixes over the years, and helped spread the mix online to thousands of ears every year, I will be pressing 10,000 copies of the mix and they will be given away completely free.
Big up everyone for the support over the last 5 years and I hope you enjoy "Sound That Speaks Volumes 2010" as much as you've enjoyed the previous annual mixes."
