Example & Don Diablo "Hooligans" (Music Video)

If you haven't heard of Example yet, then you're simply not cool, but don't worry, we'll fix that. Example is Elliot Gleave, a 26 year old rapper from Fulham, originally signed to Mike Skinner's The Beats label, his new single is out on Data Records. His older material such as "I Don't Want To" and "Me and Mandy" clearly has much stronger rap influences, whilst his more recent material is what he describes as "up-tempo electro garage rap mash-up". Thats hardly surprising when you look at the list of artists he's been working alongside, both in the studio and on the stage: Chase & Status, Hervé and MJ Cole, to name but a few.

He recently released The Credit Munch Mixtape, a free to download mixtape split into three 'rooms' for different styles of music, which demonstrated very well his versatility as an MC to jump in on more or less any beat.

The above video is his latest release, "Hooligans" (Originally known as "We Came, We Saw, We Killed The Crowd") a collaboration with Don Diablo. I have to be honest, it's not my favourite Example tune, but as with everything on Data, its got mainstream appeal and it should get the guy some much needed exposure, and i'm down with that.

To get your hands on the Credit Munch Mixtape, listen to his other releases and keep up to date with shows etc, head over to his myspace at www.myspace.com/leadingbyexample
