Apologies for the lack of posting over the last week or so. I needed a break over the festive period!

I haven't really posted a full Hip Hop mix this year, so here's part one of my Hip Hop roundup for 2011.

This mix features some of the biggest club tracks of the year, from artists such as Drake, Nick Minaj, Kanye West & Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa, as well as newer faces such as Yelawolf, Tyler The Creator, A$AP Rocky, and more.

Part two will include more on the slept-on/underground tracks of 2011.

Nicki Minaj "Your Love (Silent Dust Remix)" (Video)

Just spotted this over at Rock The Dub. I was never a fan of the original version of "Your Love"; that Annie Lennox sample really got on my nerves...and just when I thought it'd be near impossible to make a decent remix, Silent Dust (aka Hobzee & Zyon Base) come through with this little gem.

I love how through the use of minimal drums, a few guitar samples, and some lush synths, they've added a more emotive feeling to the track. According to Khal they also produce D&B, and have a debut album due for release on Soul:R, which I'm looking forward to checking out.

*sigh* If only that ass was real....

Lil Kim "Black Friday" (Nicki Minaj Diss)

Kim responds to the shots fired on "Roman's Revenge" by going in over Pharoahe Monch's "Simon Says" instrumental. She's still got it...

Nicki may be relevant at the moment, but will she still be here in 5-10 years? I doubt it... Your thoughts?
