Chase & Status Feat. Tempa T "Hypest Hype" (Music Video)

Take Next Hype, make 10 times angrier, and this is what you come up with...

I've been playing this out for a good month now, and every time it drops in the club it proper goes off! Don't believe me? Check out the mosh pit @ 3:15...That's more or less the reaction you get.

This will be available as a free download from http://www.chaseandstatus.co.uk on November 8th. If the majority of their album sounds like this, we're in for a treat...

High Rankin "Don't Carry On Like A Rude Boy When Daddy's Got A Yacht" (Music Video)

High Rankin is a comedy genius, enough said... The sad thing is, quite a few Dubstep raves are now populated by these type of people, i.e. Posh kids pretending to be super gully...

Anyhow, the tune is now available to purchase at Beatport, and all other good digital outlets. If you want a bundle which includes a t-shirt and poster, click here. Cop it now!

DJ Shiftee "The Golden Years" DMC Tribute (Video)

After a good few months of anticipation, Shiftee finally unveiled his Golden Years video at the DMC World Finals the other day at Koko in Camden.

This video is a tribute to all the incredible DJ Champions from DMC’s glorious past. I’ve spent countless hours over the years studying masters like Roc Raida, Q-bert, Craze, and A-Trak. My goal: to one day stand in their shoes. Literally…

Shiftee's been on a roll with the videos this past year, as well as constantly pushing the boundaries of turntablism using digital systems such as Traktor Scratch Pro. He's definitely taking artform to a whole new level.

Jabba Tha Kut - 10 Min Hip Hop Minimix

Here's a sick 10 minute mix that my boy Jabba Tha Kut recently did for Chess Move Cartel Radio, featuring a selection of Gold Age classics from the likes of Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Big Daddy Kane, Gang Starr, Special Ed and more...

This is inspiring me to put more skits/multitracked segments back into my mixtapes...

Dubstep Dog (Video)

This made me chuckle...

Dream McLean "The Purple Promo Vol. 3" (Mixtape)

It's finally here, the 3rd installment of the Purple Promo series by Dream McLean. Rhyming over the top of production consisting of a wide range of genres, whilst displaying a lyrical ability way above his age level, this promo is just the first in a long list of reasons of why Dream McLean is about to blow... I've been championing this guy's material for a while now, and needless to say, this mixtape doesn't fail to disappoint.

Make sure you cop this and blast it on full volume.

Nike Air Mag "Marty McFly" Auction

One of these actually made its way onto eBay a couple of years ago, alongside the "Mattel Hover Board". However, for those who ever dreamed of owning the actual pair that Michael J. Fox wore in the 1989 classic Back To The Future Part 2, now's your chance..

Whilst there is some cracking on the midsole, along with some other small signs of wear and tear, the estimated value of the sneakers is supposed to reach staggering $12000 – $15000, potentially making them the rarest sneakers of all time!

To be in with a chance of owning a pair of movie (and sneaker) history, head over to Profiles in History for more info, and details on how to place your bid.

Good luck!

French Montana Feat. Fat Joe "We Run NY" (Music Video)

In the words of P Money, "this one's a banger..."

Expect to hear this on my Hip Hop mini mix, which will drop next week...

Nas "Lost Tapes Vol. 2"?

Just saw this over at 2dopeboyz. Let's hope that Def Jam decide to play ball and release this album - the first Lost Tapes LP was crazy!

Here's the email from Nas to the heads at Def Jam, that was recently leaked:

From: Nas
To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks
Subject: PUT MY SHIT OUT!

Peace to all,

With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY’s slave. This is not the 1800′s, respect me and I will respect you.

I won’t even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don’t connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist’s dream and aspirations. You don’t help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don’t even do a great job @ selling it. The #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. You aren’t…. not even close. As a matter of fact, you wish you were, but it didn’t work out so you took a desk job. To the consumer, I COME FIRST. Stop trying to deprive them! I have a fan base that dies for my music and a RAP label that doesn’t understand RAP. Pretty fucked up situation

This isn’t the 90′s though. Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about “my label.” I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason……. they believed in me. The didn’t give a fuck about what any radio station or magazine said….those dudes had me.

Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It’s smart and after 5 years it’s still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I’m feeling is disturbing. Don’t get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog shit on a MAGICAL moment.

You don’t get another Nas recording that doesn’t count against my deal….PERIOD! Keep your bullshit $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain’t many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don’t even have shit coming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let’s get money!

-N.Jones

South Africa Trip...

Apologies for the slack updates on the blog. The past week I was on vacation in South Africa, which I spent with the family and a special certain someone. Now I'm back and fully refreshed, expect more posts, blends and mixes.

In the meantime, here's a few snapshots from my vacation in Cape Town.

This thing was made up of Coca-Cola crates, and stood about 60-70 feet high.

On top of Table Mountain.

There were some mad chandeliers in the hotel...

I also got the chance to check out a club night called Homegrown, which is the premier club night for all things D&B/Dubstep in Cape Town.

If you were lucky enough to grab a CD from me, be sure to hit me up and say hi...
