Diplo Feat. Lil Jon "U Don't Like Me" (HOODLUM Refixes)
Most of you are aware that I make these Thugstep blends, and after speaking to DJ Nappy and DJ Hypnotikk, it was only right that joined forces to give you more of the same refixes that have tearing down the clubs - HOODLUM Music.
Our first installment of free refixes comes in the form of Diplo & Lil Jon's U Don't Like Me, which sees us each flipping Lil Jon's acapella over a variety of beats, from 16Bit to Rude Kid. To top things off, we got MCs Chose and RTKal to go in over the Diplo instrumental.
Tracklist:
01. Lil’ Jon “U Don’t Like M(armit)e (DJ Hipnotikk Re-edit)”
02. Lil’ Jon vs. 16bit “U Don’t Like Me (DJ Nappy THUGSTEP Refix)”
03. Lil’ Jon vs. Rude Kid “U Don’t Like Screwdrivers (DJ Cable THUGSTEP Blend)”
04. Chose & RTKal “U Don’t Like Me (Remix)”
Stay tuned for more Thugsteppery!

Headcase “Etch A Sketch” iPad Case
Remember the Etch A Sketch? I swear everyone had one of those as a kid...
Well, they've collaborated with Headcase to being you a protective case that will give your precious Apple product that retro feel. While the Etch A Sketch buttons don't do anything, all iPad buttons, ports and switches are fully accessible with a retractable kickstand available for keyboard use and viewing. Cute, but pretty pointless at the same time.
Every time I think of the Etch A Sketch, this comic strip always comes to mind:

100 Akres Presents: The Billy Ocean Beat Tape
Fresh from recently dropping his rather dope Cyndi Lauper Beat Tape, FreshNerd is back with another sick instrumental EP, this time flipping Billy Ocean's 1984 album, Suddenly.
In his words:
"Here are my latest works designed to damage the muscles in your neck. Billy Ocean's 1984 album, Suddenly, had gems such as Caribbean Queen and Mystery Lady. Those tracks initially drew me to flip and chop the living sh*t out of this LP. This time around I even remixed Mos Def's Priority (from the Ecstatic album) over one of these Billy Ocean slappers and the outcome....well, let's just say its what made Billy utter the words "This sh*t is bananas!""

DJ Cable - August 2010 Podcast
Apologies for the delay once again, but here's my latest mix/podcast for your listening pleasure... I've also got some bad news as well, as this will be my last podcast of 2010, due to work/DJ commitments. As a result, I've done my best to go out with a bang!
Whilst certain DJs bash out mixes quickly without any thought, I like to take the time to make sure each mixtape is near-perfect (in my opinion...and whilst I enjoy putting these together, I've been asked to do a number of guest mixes for various blogs, cuts for various artists, as well as other music-related opportunities. As a result, I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time to putting together a solid monthly series that would stand the test of time.
Anyhow, the final podcast of this year contains a load of unreleased and forthcoming material from the likes of Youngman & Benga, Marco Del Horno & DJ Swerve, P Money, Fused Forces, Dcult, Secret Lemon Project, Noah D and Kavsrave, as well as recent heat from Kano, Rick Ross, Mala, Stay Fresh Music, and more...
Tracklising:
01. DJ Cable - Podcast Intro
02. Rick Ross - Blowin' Money Fast (B.M.F.)
03. Bun B - B.M.F. Freestyle
04. Kano Feat. Wiley & Aidonia - Get Wild (Redlight Remix)
05. Littlefoot - Sell My Soul
06. Youngman & Benga - One And Only
07. Seven & Elvee - Breakdown
08. Terror Danjah - Ride 4 Me
09. SLK - Hype! Hype! (Acapella)
10. Fused Forces - The Day Before

12. Macca Feat. Frisco - We Go Hard
13. Marco Del Horno - Ho Riddem (Swerve Remix Instrumental)
14. Marco Del Horno - Ho Riddem (Swerve Remix Feat. P Money)
15. G.Tank - Electronic Era
16. Fused Forces - Henry VIP
17. Dcult - Requiem
18. Mala - Don't Let Me Go
19. Benga - Descending
20. Fused Forces Feat. Blacks - Just Do You
21. Slum Dogz - In The Hood
22. Project Midnight - Laser Beam
23. Quest - Wind Tunnel
24. His Girl Friday - The Calling (Kavsrave Remix)
25. Flava D - Goin' On Cold
26. Secret Lemon Project - AIDS
27. Noah D & Mensah - Kashmir
28. Caspa & Subscape - Geordie Racer
29. Rude Kid - Rain Drops
30. Professor Green Feat. Maverick Sabre - Jungle
I've had fun putting these together, and will still continue to bring mixes out, just not on a monthly basis! To everyone who has supported the series, thank you...
Cable.

Dream McLean "Let You Go" Freestyle (Prod. Chase & Status)
Dream McLean comes through once again with another heavy freestyle, this time over the Brookes Brothers remix of Chase & Status' current club banger. Fire as usual.
The fact that he can spit of a variety of BPMs proves his versatility as an MC, and with the Purple Promo Vol. 3 set to drop next month, I have a feeling we're going to be hearing a lot more from this guy across the next 12 months.

Mary Anne Hobbs' Final Show on Radio 1
Last night Mary Anne Hobbs hosted her last ever show on BBC Radio 1, which included a special guest mix from Kode9 & Burial. For years, she has been pivotal in opening up peoples' ears to cutting edge music, and one of the first DJs to introduce Dubstep to national radio. It's sad to see her go, but I know Benji B will continue carry the torch well when he takes over on October 14th.
All the best, Mary Anne Hobbs!
